Redwood Financial Family Wealth & Estate Planners, launched their not-for-profit Redwood Foundation on Monday 3rd December with a fun packed charity quiz night.
The event was attended by over 70 Clients and guests, who, through purchasing event and raffle tickets raised nearly £700 for the Redwood Foundation. Guests were treated to a Christmas themed quiz, including a music and picture round and a buffet meal. Christmas jumpers were the order of the night, with many Clients and suppliers donating an amazing array of raffle prizes.
Jasmine Lambert, Managing Director of Redwood Financial Family Wealth and Estate Planners said; “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of our Clients and guests who attended the evening. We also had many more who could not make the night but who still contributed to our cause. I thank them all for their incredible contributions. We are a family business and our Clients are like extended family to us. Having the opportunity to spend the evening with them, just having some fun, is something the team and I just love to do!”
The Redwood Foundation has been established to achieve three primary aims:
- To give Financial Assistance Grants to those unable to afford Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney & basic Estate Planning
- To support projects that help preserve our planet for the future generations of our Client’s families
- To provide financial education to young and disadvantaged families so we end the wealth gap in the UK
“Our business is all about helping people to Grow, Protect and Enjoy their wealth”, explains Jasmine. “Helping those less fortunate than ourselves has always been a passion of the Redwood team and we are proud to have already raised over £50,000 for good causes. The Redwood Foundation is going to enable us to really focus in on the issues that truly matter to our Clients and to the local communities we live within. Having a Will is a basic requirement for any family, even if it is just to set the guardianship of any children should the worst happen. It is not just about protecting wealth and assets. Our Clients tell us this is a really important cause to them and many of them are part of the Board governing the Foundation with us.”
One of the first activities the Redwood Foundation will be undertaking is a free monthly public seminar to help young families and couples’ budget and manage their finances better. “We meet people time and time again who just say to us “I don’t know where all the money has gone this month”, explains Steve Blofield, Senior Adviser at Redwood. “Our Journey to Financial Freedom workshops will help people understand that they are alone and provide them with budgeting techniques that will help them ultimately achieve the lifestyle they desire. Managing personal finances is so important and yet is something they just don’t teach you at school”.
The workshops start on Monday 21st January at 6.30pm, Cosham Community Centre, Wotton Street.
